I saw a beautiful French film called “My Afternoons with Margueritte“. It has a very poignant message, the gardener in the story comments that he is very good at being able to press the ‘pause’ button. This characteristic is very important if you are going to spend time creating your future, as Peter Drucker often stated. A habit I would recommend to you all is, have a ‘blue sky Friday’. Avoid going to the office, do not open your email and spend half a day thinking about the future, linking with those people you know you should via phone, following up on initiatives that you have on the back-burner, asking yourself ‘Where can I change my daily activities to better link to the Critical Success Factors in my organisation?’.
